Job Title: Product Sales Specialist
Description: JOB PURPOSE:
The Product Sales Specialist will work cooperatively with outside sales
and other team members to grow existing clients, create new clients and
meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin
while exceeding client expectations. The Specialist will receive
requests for quotations, orders and lead times from clients as well as
proactive outbound prospecting and networking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical
information in a timely manner.
. Determine client requirements and expectations in order to recommend
specific products and solutions as well as recommend alternative
products based on cost, availability or specifications.
. Educate clients about terminology, features and benefits of products
in order to improve product related sales and client satisfaction.
. Make face-to-face client calls with account owners to provide product
expertise and collect field data when necessary.
. Receive telephone requests for price quotations, purchase orders,
order changes, adjustments and cancellations from clients and send
quotes to clients in a timely manner.
. Assume responsibility for allied projects initiated by sales staff.
. Maintain and build long term relationships with vendors and become
knowledgeable on their products and services.
. Participate in vendor evaluation, qualification, and selection.
. Responsible for providing reports on sales activity, sales forecasts
and other quantifiable sales objective measurement.
. Develop requests for quote to vendors, compile information and apply
the appropriate sales mark-up.
. Send quotes to clients in a timely manner.
. Accurately process client transactions such as orders or quotes, check
vendor acknowledgements vs. material requested, monitor scheduled
shipment dates to ensure timely delivery.
. Utilize CRM to manage opportunities and the sales process.
. Ensure continual client satisfaction.
. Remain current on client preferences by attending sales meetings,
vendor training and trade shows, and reading trade journals.
. Work effectively and communicate with other service groups to achieve
sales quotas and client satisfaction.
. Perform other job related duties as required.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
. Bachelor's degree/Associate degree and at least 3 years of sales or
other transactional experience.
. Well-developed verbal and interpersonal skills required to maintain
favorable customer relations.
. Demonstrated grasp of industry terminology, product specifications,
and practical application of products.
. Demonstrated ability to work with clients, face-to-face and effective
phone skills.
. Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling
strategies and techniques.
. Ability to work without direct supervision.
. High degree of responsibility.
. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, CRM,
PowerPoint, etc.)
. Excellent problem solving, judgment making, analytical, customer
service and organizational skills.
. Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and comfortable in a
fast pace environment.
. Manages time effectively and adapts to quickly changing priorities.
. Presents a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
