AQP PART TIME/CONTRACT POSITION DESCRIPTION

Sales Consultant

AQP is a national membership based association, which provides educational and 
training courses to professionals in corporation?s nation wide. Our members are 
involved in organization and employee development to enhance results. There are 
approximately 15 courses conducted in varies cites each year, two publications, 
and a convention annually. 

This is a key position at AQP- this position is very critical to the 
stabilization of AQP in FY 02-03, and in playing a key role in the 
establishment of the product sales, existing and expanded products for AQP. 

SUPERVISOR: Manager Marketing and Membership

Some cross reporting to: Managing Director

DESCRIPTION OF JOB: This position is cross-functional to all areas of AQP. This 
position is key to raising revenues and marketing the association products. 

Includes execution of marketing and sales concepts. Conducts actual sales of 
those products. Our affiliate, ASQ (American Society for Quality) is contracted 
to perform passive marketing of AQP products such as collateral material and 
other promotions. AQP will now supplement that work with direct sales, or 
relationship selling of all AQP products, including:

Product Areas: 

1. Annual Conference - Exhibit Sales, sponsorships, program ads, Expo 
coordination

2. Memberships - Individual memberships- renewals and recruitments; Corporate 
(Site) memberships for corporations

3. Publications - Ad sales and other revenues

4. Corporate Programs - Corporate alliances- develop concepts, sell packages.

5. Web Site - Sponsorship and advertising

6. Educational Courses - Both Public Courses and In House (on site) courses


EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or related field. 

EXPERIENCE: Two or more years of experience in marketing, sales promotion, etc. 

LIST OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Direct sales and relationship building with customers and members

Maintains frequent and systematic contact with potential AQP markets and 
prospects. 

2. Maintains records of key steps with each potential customer so data-bases 
can be updated

This is a part time or contract position with 10-20 hours per week projected, 
with pay based on either hours worked, or contracted, with potential for over 
ride commissions on paid business. Qualified prospect lists will be provided. 
Work can be done part of the time from another location. Materials and 
information will be provided. Consultant could be of help in designing or 
conceptualizing materials and programs.
