As a graduate, I am totally astounded that a member who is providing a very
generous donation of time to help with potential leads has now stopped
because people can't take a few seconds to delete an unneeded e-mail.
It boggles my mind that the HYDE PARK UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, JOB SEARCH
FOCUS GROUP list serve would make this suggestion. I certainly can't use
any of the leads but I am happy to share with friends who can. I remember
seeing several leads for in-town positions too.
My goodness, the title alone tells a "reasonable person" if they need the
e-mail. If you don't need the e-mail simply delete it. I thought the
purpose of a JOB SEARCH FOCUS GROUP was to disseminate leads! I think it's
a shame that more people aren't sharing opportunities.
Lastly, I know the organization is intended for all professionals in the
community regardless of their faith. But it certainly attests a bit to our
generosity when we put a majority vote on a program that may be helping a
few. I personally believe the spirit of the organization would suggest that
the minority who benefit deserve the continued e-mails.
At the very least, if this burden is soooooooooo unbareable, they should be
posted on the JSFG Web-Site (killing all hopes of immediacy)!
