Be pleasant and interested: do face-to-face as much as possible
Use a bridge, introduce yourself and mention your bridge name
If voicemail: leave phone number and name at the beginning of the message, also
at the end. Slow down and pause, imagine you are writing the numbers down
yourself, speak at approximately 160 word per minute.
After introduction and bridge, ask if this is a good time for the interviewer
(show respect for their time). If it is not a good time, ask when would be a
good time to call back.
Use power phrases, tailor them to the job situation. See â??Knockâ??em Dead
2003, by Martin Yate.
Follow-up with a thank you letter
To block caller id, use *67 prefix when dialing the phone number.

opportunities are for which there might be a need for your skills. Then send a
letter to VPâ??s in your field.
Send an introduction email to contacts making sure to â??decompressâ?? using a
statement such as, â??Iâ??m sure you may not know of any current openings in
the field, butâ?¦â?? Keep email brief, outline your objective and key skills,
then ask if you can have a ten minute phone conversation or face-to-face
meeting. Main focus should be researching not asking to find you a job.
Success rate in networking phone calls a lot higher when â??bridge personâ?? is
