For immediate release â??Cincinnati, Oh May 16, 2008
In these times of difficult Economic and Employment conditionsâ?¦
Job Search Focus Group â?? the best resource for high-quality professional
job candidates in Greater Cincinnati â?? provides a source of hope, help and
path to new opportunities
â??Monday May 19th will be a pivotal day in the storied history of JSFG,â??
says its President Bob Pautke. â??Our members will benefit from the advice
of nationally recognized career consultant Andrea Kay; then from a Job Fair
we are hosting; and that evening the inaugural JSFG Board of Directors will
meet for the very first time. Truly a triple-crown day for our members!â??
Andrea Kay is a career consultant and executive coach who has helped
thousands of job hunters and employees cut to the heart of their frustration
and dissatisfaction to take control of their careers

The Job Fair runs from 11:00-1:30pm with over 20 local businesses
participating

Board of Directors (bios below): â??The advent of a Board,â?? Pautke
explains, â??converts JSFG from a volunteer-led organization to one with a
governing body. This Board will take the organization to new heights of
support and services.â?? Board goals include:
- Providing continuity of leadership - continuity that is difficult to
achieve with frequent turnover of volunteer leaders (they graduate to
employment),
- Increasing revenue to provide more services, support and opportunities
(today the organization is totally funded by the unemployed!)
- Increasing employer awareness of services and employable talent that
JSFG has to offer, and gaining their (employers) support.
The Job Search Focus Group (JSFG) is the only open membership organization
in the region who meets weekly to serve those in career transition. It draws
members from Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Northern Kentucky and Eastern
Indiana. More then 10,000 individuals have participated in JSFG since its
1992 beginning.
Each Monday at 9:00am JSFG meetings offer: professional guest speakers,
networking opportunities, support, etc. to promote each individualâ??s
forward momentum. Workshops such as resume writing, communications skills,
interviewing tips and techniques, franchise and entrepreneur options, etc.
are offered at various times during the week.
Additionally JSFGers have the opportunity to post profiles of their skills
and experiences to the JSFG website. Alerts are sent to regional employers
advising of their availability for on-line access
(http://jsfg.com/profiles.htm).
JSFG is a non-denominational employment network, hosted by the Hyde Park
Community United Methodist Church (HPCUMC). â??Formed in 1992 as an outreach
ministry,â?? says Dave Weaver HPCUMC Community Service and Outreach Pastor,
â??the group has admirably served the needs of the unemployed. We are
pleased to be able to offer our support as needed, and take pride in
JSFGâ??s 17-year record of helping thousands.â??
