I wanted to network with you regarding a new search that
Witt/Kieffer is working on with the Ohio State
University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.  This is an excellent
opportunity to join a very progressive academic health center that is in
the midst of significant growth and change.


The medical center includes several entities including University
Hospitals, the James Cancer Hospital, the College of Medicine, and the
related physician practice plan.  At the highest level, the CFO oversees
overall financial matters, ensures that accurate and timely management
information and reporting is conveyed to the leadership of the medical
center, guides the budgeting process of the medical center, and ensures
that accounting and financial matters are accurately managed.  The CFO
actively participates with the senior leadership teams of each of the
medical center business units in evaluating the environment, determining
financial strategy and setting financial policy for the health system.
This position is primarily a higher-level coordinating CFO position,
helping to ensure overall collaboration among the CFOs and dealing with
medical center finances at a macro level.  The position reports directly to
the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean, College of Medicine
and Public Health.


The new CFO will be an individual capable of fitting within the working
style of a very complex academic health center and university.  A person
with a strong in-depth understanding of health care finance and the special
circumstances of funding within an academic health center is strongly
preferred.  The preferred candidate will possess a deep and thorough
understanding of all aspects of financial operations.  A CPA or related
Master's degree is highly preferred.
