JOB DESCRIPTION
Sales and Marketing Manager, Consumer Insights and Sensory Evaluation
Premier contract and research organization based in California is looking for
an experienced consumer insights/marketing research individual to head up our
national sales and marketing effort.
This person will be responsible for developing new sales in the consumer
insights and sensory evaluation portfolio. This person will be responsible for
maintaining and growing our consumer business, developing new business,
developing sales forecasts, meeting budgeted revenue, and other duties as
assigned. While identifying and targeting new clients for our consumer market,
this person will also cross sell other company services where appropriate.
While performing these tasks, this person can operate independently or as
part of a team to present company capabilities to strategic accounts.
This position reports to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Qualifications:
· At least 5 years sales experience in the food, beverage and/or
consumer products market
· Bachelors Degree
· Strong technical understanding of marketing research and/or sensory
evaluation
· Past supplier side experience is a plus.
· Must have flexible schedule allowing 30?50% travel.
· Ability to work without supervision as well as part of a team.
· Self-starter, with excellent communication and presentation skills,
quality oriented, able to multi-task and possesses excellent people skills.

Primary Responsibilities
· Develop and execute a short-term and long-term sales and marketing
plan to approach and secure new business opportunities for the consumer
insights market.
· Develop a list of potential new accounts with a strategic fit to the
company.
· Proactively pursue potential new accounts, setting up sales
meetings/opportunities.
· Present capabilities to key accounts individually and/or as part of
a team to secure new business opportunities.
· Maintain regular contact with assigned target clients. Document
contacts in the company database.
· Develop an excellent understanding of recruiting, test
administration and data analysis of consumer research projects (CLT?s, HUT?s
and focus groups). Be able to effectively communicate our services.
· Participate in trade shows and conferences
· Understand and be able to cross sell other company services to
appropriate targets.

Consumer Insights, Sensory Research, Product Innovation & Commercialization,
Chemistry and Microbiology for the food, beverage and consumer products
industries.
