[jsfg_cinti] Middletown Civil Service Commission Examination Announcement for the Position of Laborer I

The City of Middletown announces an open competitive examination to
establish an eligible list for the position of Laborer I.

Eligibility: High School Diploma or GED with experience in performing manual
labor or maintenance work, or any equivalent combination of experience and
training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Possession of a valid Ohio Driver's license and the ability to possess a
Commercial Driver's License as required by State Law. (New employees in the
classification of Laborer must possess a CDL by the end of their six-month
probationary period).

Examination: A written examination will be held Thursday, March 30, 2006 at
6:00 p.m. Candidates are to report at 5:45 p.m. to the Middletown Area
Seniors Citizens Building, 140 North Verity Parkway, Middletown, Ohio.
Parking is available in the south lot of the City Building. Picture I.D.
required for admittance to examination.

Scope of Examination: The examination will test the abilities and aptitudes
of the applicants to perform the duties of Laborer I.

Minimum Score: The minimum passing score on the examination is 70%.

Applications: Application packets may be obtained at the Citizen Service
Center, located in the lobby of the City Building, One Donham Plaza,
Middletown, Ohio and must be filed by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2006. No
application form will be accepted after this deadline. An application form
must be filed to be eligible to take the examination.

Starting Salary: $27,560 annually with excellent benefits.

Veterans: A copy of your DD214 must be submitted with the application to
receive veteran credit.
