My name is Bob Wallington and I've been recruiting for over 25 years,
starting in St. Louis with Roth Young, and relocated to Portland, Oregon in
1990 to start my own firm (RD Wallington & Assoc., Inc). My specialty is Market
Research (Syndicated and Primary) in the packaged goods industry. Previous to
getting into the recruiting business, I spent 5 years with McCormick & Co. Inc.
(spices and seasoning mixes) in sales management.

1) Primary Function
a.. Why does the job exist?
To provide leadership, consumer insight and analysis to the Walmart
team. Leads analysis and provides actionable customer and consumer insights
across the Company's business units.
Provides actionable customer and consumer insights across all
categories to the Walmart team, the established brand teams and the innovation
teams.
2) Working Relationships:

Frequent interaction with Category Mgt., Sales, Established Brand

4) Principal Duties &
Responsibilities
§ Include all essential job functions
§ This section should include the primary day-to-day
responsibilities & activities of the position. These should represent the
"core" of the job duties.
1.. Collaborate with sales, brand management, innovation and category
management to develop consumer-based solutions for Walmart.
2.. Develop consumer insight and leverage insight with Walmart.
3.. Drive integration and packaging of corporate-based research into
the Walmart teams to help them sell.
4. Provides actionable customer and consumer insights across all
categories to the Walmart team, the established brand teams and the innovation
teams.
5. Provides consumer insight, product performance measurement,
competitive analysis, advertising evaluation and analysis of other marketing
tactics in supporting the achievement of Walmart goals.

5) Work Environment
§ Describe the working conditions related to the job including
physical requirements, equipment used, time constraints, public contact, etc.
Position is located in the Walmart Team offices in Bentonville, AK.
Travel 10% to corporate offices.
Significant customer interaction.
6) Preferred Education &
Experience
§ List the minimum amount of education and/or experience
required to perform the job. Be specific in terms of the type of experience
required.
A Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant research experience
(supplier or manufacturer) is required including sales, market research or
category management experience. Also required is experience with one or more
of: Syndicated data analysis, In-store research, Survey research, Advertising
testing, Brand equity tracking, or Pre-market testing.
Strong presentation skills including experience presenting to senior
management.
Ability to understand and package complex research methodologies and
explain outcomes in ways customers can apply.
