PostingPosition Title:  Web Application Administrator
Reporting:  Manager, Server Engineering and Operations
Job Summary:
The Web Application Administrator will be the lead in installing,
configuring, and administering all web and supporting applications in a
mixture of Unix and Win2k environment.
Principal Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and support numerous web server applications including
Microsoft IIS, and Apache.
Install, configure, and support other operational software such as Veritas
Cluster Server, NetBackup/BackupExec, MSCS, WebSphere, WebLogic, Oracle,
MS-SQL, Solaris Cluster Service, Linux Cluster Services.
Assist in system administration support for Solaris, HPUX, LINUX, Win2k, and
WinNT.
Assist in hardware installation and support for Sun, HP, Dell, IBM, Compaq,
Cisco, and other platforms.
Assist in Data Center operation.
Must be willing to learn new applications as necessary to provide
operational support as new projects are implemented.
Must be willing to assist in other Portal Ops projects as needed.
Must be willing to carry a pager and be on call 24x7 as well as participate
in bi-weekly weekend maintenance windows or after hour maintenance as
necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven web services experience in a production 24x7x365 operation.
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining apache and IIS web
server.
Intimate knowledge of HTTP(s) protocol, and strong familiarity with other
Internet protocols.
Knowledge of other web concepts such as applicable servers and proxies.
Effective verbal and written communication skills as there will be
significant interdepartmental interaction.
Strong UNIX System administration skills in HPUX, and LINUX and some
Solaris.
Experience with backup applications such as NetBackup, BackupExec.
Experience with clustering applications such as MSCS and Veritas Cluster
Server.
Experience with Database technologies (Oracle, MS-SQL, mySQL).
Experience with WebLogic.
WinNT/Win2k system administration a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job experience.
Minimum of five years of experience administrating web technologies in a
24x7 production environment.
Minimum of seven years of experience with web related/support applications,
information systems, and system administration
