  I'm looking for a  Market Research Manager for a $19 B Global leader in the 
consumer products industry with about 130,000 employees and commercial 
operations in over 170 countries. Candidate will have 5++ years of consumer 
research experience. 


  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Identify consumer and customer research needs and determine the most 
effective and efficient way to meet these needs. Help brand/sales/product 
development prioritize research needs based on previous/current learning and 
resources.

  Analyze results, provide recommended actions, and assess implications of 
research findings. Effectively communicate to management and clients via 
presentations, reports, and proposals.

  Use research findings to provide assistance to brand marketing in the 
development of strategic marketing plans.

  Design market research methods and seek to actively improve research methods. 
Identify and develop data collections sources and monitor and improve quality 
of data sources. ensure high quality deliverables are met in timely manner.

  Work with ad agencies in development of creative strategy.

  Manage activity of multiple suppliers towards the accomplishment of 
meaningful and timely results within the budget

  Conduct the following types of research studies: segmentation, customer 
satisfaction, communications copy testing and tracking, brand image studies, 
brand perceptions, brand profiles, switching and loyalty studies, consumer 
wants and needs, attitudes and behavior studies, name research, mystery 
shopping.

  Help to establish a unique, well-defined position for our products from our 
competitors in each market segment opportunity.

  Develop predictive models of: price elasticity, the consumer purchase process 
for our products and the allocation of dollars across marketing mix elements, 
particularly media, promotions, special events and the push vs. pull elements.

  Participate in special cross-functional teams requiring consumer information.

  Manager a research budget of $1-2 million annually.

  LOCATION:  in the Carolina mountains with a metro population of about 700,000

  SALARY:  $60's - $70's depending on experience

  To tell you a bit about myself, I've been recruiting for over 25 years, 
starting in St. Louis with Roth Young in 1979, and relocated to Portland, 
Oregon in 1990 to start my own firm. My specialty is Marketing Research 
primarily in the packaged goods industry. Previous to getting into the 
recruiting business, I spent 5 years with McCormick & Co. Inc. (spices and 
seasoning mixes) in sales management.
