A Laughter Club Experience!

Patrick Welage is a Certified Laughologist who has
trained with Dr. Madan Kataria of Mumbai, India. Dr.
Kataria is the founder of the international Laughter
Yoga movement, which now has over 2000 Laughter Clubs
in over 30 different countries!

Laughter, a universal language, can provide benefits
to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual
well-being. The philosophy of ?laughter for no
reason? is to create ?world peace through laughter!?

This is a fun-filled participatory and experiential
event! A Laughter Club includes movement, light
stretching, breathing exercises, and laughter
exercises - all leading up to a laughter meditation,
where all participants laugh uncontrollably for 15
minutes or longer! This is not a ?comedy or humor
club.? Rather, it is an experience to give yourself
permission to ?laugh for no reason,? under the
guidance of a trained Laughologist.

The process works, if you do!

The experience will last for approximately 90
minutes, and can include 1 or 2 short videos and a
brief introduction before the Laughter Club begins.
Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing,
and they are asked to be present for the entire
experience ? please, no late-comers or
early-departees! Come for the full, fun, and fantastic
experience of Laughter!

Patrick Welage works at Xavier University with the
Academic Service Learning Semesters and the Peace and
Justice programs. He also teaches Philosophy and
Theology classes, where he has utilized Laughter
Clubs in his classes as a way to build community. He
has facilitated Laughter Clubs in the United States,
Ireland, Italy, India, Ghana, and Zambia, and South
Africa.
