Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of the Specialized Testing Services Group, this hi=
ghly technical position is responsible for providing direct support of Load=
 & Performance testing and secondary support of the processes, tools and in=
frastructure required to scale out test automation capacity.  MedPlus softw=
are is focused on the management of medical records and laboratory test ord=
ers and results, utilizing a rich variety of technologies: Web/J2EE, Java, =
Client Server, SOA (web service), JMS, Oracle RAC, Weblogic, Apache/Redline=
, JCAPS, and a variety of proprietary components/protocols across various O=
S/platforms. =20

In the Load and Performance area, activities will cover planning, productio=
n data analysis, test environment support, setup & execution of tests, prob=
lem diagnosis support, and reporting of results from test efforts.  Testing=
 to be conducted will span benchmark, stress, performance, scalability, fai=
lover, feature, tuning, and specific requests as necessary to sustain the r=
eliable operation of MedPlus products in production. =20

A secondary role of this position will be to support the technical needs re=
lated to a growing base of automated testing.  Key areas of focus will incl=
ude streamlining the use of automation tools to support distributed testing=
 in a VM environment, developing and implementing a technical solution to c=
entralize test results reporting across multiple test tools and products, a=
nd automated report generation to support the collection of metrics.
Principal Responsibilities:
=E2=80=A2=09Participates in the review of product requirements related to l=
oad, performance, reliability, etc.  =20
=E2=80=A2=09Works with development, operations, PSG to define appropriate t=
ests and conditions
=E2=80=A2=09Creates and maintains scripts, utilities required to execute id=
entified testing=20
=E2=80=A2=09Setup (data, environment, tools) and execute tests according to=
 plans developed
=E2=80=A2=09Works with development engineers to identify and resolve defect=
s.=20
=E2=80=A2=09Generates reports of testing results, recommends future testing
=E2=80=A2=09Support processes, tools, strategies to support automated testi=
ng in the areas of distributed testing, centralized results reporting, metr=
ics collection & reporting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
=E2=80=A2=09Quality-oriented mind-set.  Past experience in a QA/Test/Certif=
ication/Debugging role is desired.
=E2=80=A2=09Prior experience in load/performance testing of enterprise web,=
 client-server, SOA based applications is desired. =20
=E2=80=A2=09Ability to understand fundamental architecture & interfaces of =
products under test.
=E2=80=A2=09Ability to assist with diagnosis of complicated issues using a =
diverse tool set across various aspects of system (database, J2EE layer, pr=
esentation layer, interfaces, network, load balancing, etc)
=E2=80=A2=09Prior experience with system administration, database administr=
ation, development, networking is a plus
=E2=80=A2=09Prior QA, System Analysis experience is a plus. =20
=E2=80=A2=09Prior experience in an environment utilizing test automation is=
 a plus
