Job Description:
Position Summary: 
The Fiserv Insurance Group provides innovative insurance technology, 
professional services, and outsourcing solutions to Life, P&C, Flood, and 
Reinsurance carriers, managing general agents, and administrators. Our 
solutions include insurance policy and claims administration, underwriting, 
rating, advanced billing and collections, point-of-sale technology, 
straight-through processing solutions and business process outsourcing. We are 
seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Reinsurance team. This position 
can work from one of our following office locations: Cincinnati, OH or Cedar 
Rapids, IA. 
The Senior Project Manager position requires an accomplished professional who 
will have overall responsibility for completion of various large scale and 
complex (3600 hours or more with typical duration of 6 months or more) system 
and technology related projects from start to finish. This individual will have 
extensive experience with all aspects of project management practices including 
use of Microsoft Project. This individual will be able to work independently 
with limited supervision. This individual will be a self-starter who thrives in 
a fast-paced environment which requires superior time management skills to 
manage and prioritize concurrent work assignments. This individual will have 
excellent communication, problem solving, and customer relation skills which 
will be used to lead diverse project teams and hold team members accountable 
for meeting budget and delivery guidelines. 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities: 
The Senior Project Manager position will coordinate with various departments 
and staff, both internal and external, to ensure successful delivery on target 
dates and adherence to company standards. Assemble project teams, assign 
individual responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed to 
accomplish task, and develop schedules to ensure timely project completion. 
Participates in strategic planning sessions with both client and management to 
determine the scope and objectives of each project. Identify the role of each 
project team member. Coordinate the activities of the team to meet project 
milestones. Update management and client on project progress. 

Additional responsibilities include:
- Manage project to the approved budget. 
- Develop and monitor project status in Microsoft Project and time tracking 
system. Ensure corrective action is taken on any task falling behind schedule. 
- Monitor project for any changes in scope as per the Change Control Process 
and determine impact to the Business Units or clients. 
- Complete project status reporting for management and client. 
- Complete required documentation and obtain appropriate signatures (e.g. 
sign-offs, design specifications, etcetera) to ensure contractual compliance 
and completion. 
- Manage project team disputes through mediation, arbitration, and direction. 
- Coordinate and collaborate cross-project interdependencies with other project 
managers. 
- Coordinate and gather project sizing and task identification exercise. 
- Monitor all project phases to ensure quality gates are met. (i.e. key 
activities and deliverables are completed) 
- Direct day to day management of the resource. 
- Report issues, risks and ideas for resolving/reducing the risk to management 
and clients. 
- Recommend and implement improvements to systems and procedures. 
- Use strong analytic skills to solve problems and make decisions based on 
limited precedents or guidelines. 
- Solve diverse problems using solid analytical skills where limited precedents 
or guidelines exist.

Job Requirements, Skills, Abilities, Education/Certification/License/Training:
The Senior Project Manager will have 10+ years of progressive Project 
Management experience leading enterprise level application development projects 
in excess of 3,000 hours from inception to delivery. 

Must have extensive experience with all aspects of project management practices 
including use of Microsoft Project and possess the ability to gain an 
understanding of insurance or reinsurance business processes. 

Java based application knowledge. (highly desired) 

Previous exposure to the P&C insurance/reinsurance industry. (highly desired) 

Prior experience working for a software vendor and/or within the service 
industry. (highly desired)

Education/Training/Travel:
Bachelor¢s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent; related work 
experience can be substituted for educational requirement. 
Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Master of Business Administration 
(MBA) designation is a plus. 
Travel up to 75% maybe required although actual experience has been 50% or less.

Physical Conditions/Requirements:
- Position requires the ability to hear and communicate clearly, orally and in 
writing. 
- Uses vision to view screens, create and review documents; requires close 
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and 
ability to adjust focus. 
- Capable of using a keyboard effectively. 
- Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk and may 
occasionally lift and move 25 pounds. 
- May require the ability to drive a vehicle. 
- Occasional travel to meetings or outside training may be required.

This position is exempt. This position is not eligible for relocation 
assistance. Salary must be provided to be considered.
