Temporary Special Events Assistant to organize, develop, coordinate, implem=
ent and expand the Walk to Cure Diabetes event scheduled for October 8th. =
He/She will execute job assignments to ensure that the fundraising prioriti=
es of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International Board of Directors are=
incorporated into chapter fundraising goals and objectives. =20

Requirements_Qualif: Responsibilities Include:
 Develop information/task timelines and systems to improve the dist=
ribution of materials and effectively=20
manage tasks for all special events.=20
 Support the reporting needs of the special events coordinator and =
/or the office. Provide administrative support and/or oversee administrati=
ve responsibilities performed by the administrative assistant.
 Attend special events planning sessions to ensure that responsibil=
ities and volunteer needs are appropriately identified and managed effectiv=
ely.
 Serve as a production assistant at assigned events and key contact=
for volunteers. Make presentations as needed. Develop a tracking system t=
o ensure effective communications and keep the executive director apprised =
of all relevant issues
 Provide administrative support and/or collaborate with administrat=
ive assistant to insure the special events coordinator has all the administ=
rative support required to help facilitate fundraising goals and the office=
s needs.
Knowledge
 Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Pow=
erpoint & Access) is essential.
 Database experience necessary.
 Ability to learn new computer software programs.
 Development and preparation of presentations
Special Requirements
 Excellent computer skills
 Good analytical, verbal and written communication skills
 Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
 Experience working with volunteers and handling logistics for spec=
ial events
 Ability to lift packages up to 30 pounds.
 A team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of=
staff and volunteers. Must develop and maintain relationships.
 Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast p=
aced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlin=
es under pressure.
 Access and desktop publishing experience a plus
 Active listening and problem solving skills.
