The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSDGC), a forward-th=
inking major utility providing comprehensive water reclamation services to =
the Hamilton County region in southwestern Ohio, is seeking an energetic, e=
xperienced, strategic-minded professional for a key leadership role in our =
organization.  The Sewers Chief Engineer will lead the Wastewater Engineeri=
ng Division in its work to accomplish and support the Wet Weather Improveme=
nt Plan (WWIP), an aggressive $2 billion capital improvement program which =
will modernize the wastewater infrastructure over the next 20 years.  MSDGC=

Specific functional areas of the division include planning, design, program=
 and project management, construction management and inspection, right-of-w=
ay acquisition, mapping and records, review of new development proposals, a=
nd permitting of new connections. =20

Responsibilities of the Sewers Chief Engineer include, but are not limited =
to, the following:
=EF=BF=BD=09Leading division level strategic business planning in concert w=
ith MSDGC departmental strategic planning efforts;
=EF=BF=BD=09Working closely with the Program Management Consultant to accom=
plish the goals and achieve the milestones of the WWIP;=20
=EF=BF=BD=09Establishing methods and schedules for delivering projects and =
services;
=EF=BF=BD=09Planning, administering and monitoring the division budget;
=EF=BF=BD=09Overseeing the supervision, development and management of the s=
taff of approximately 100, including engineering and other technical, cleri=
cal, administrative and project management staff;=20
=EF=BF=BD=09Planning for staffing expansion driven by program needs;
=EF=BF=BD=09Assuring conformance with quality and safety standards and prac=
tices, departmental policies and procedures, and other rules and regulatory=
 requirements;
=EF=BF=BD=09Participating in meetings and negotiations with various regulat=
ory authorities;
=EF=BF=BD=09Participating in professional associations and continuing educa=
tion to stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, including regulato=
ry standards, wastewater collection, treatment, operation and maintenance a=
nd information technology.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a Bachelor=EF=BF=BDs degree in Civil, Mechanical =
or related engineering field from an accredited college or university. Must=
 be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio or obtain same =
during probationary period. Must be willing to work irregular hours. Must h=
ave eight years of recent, progressively responsible leadership experience =
in a wastewater related field. Four years must be at the supervisory level =
and (5) five years of the required experience must have occurred within the=
 last (5) five years. You are required to send a copy of your valid driver'=
s license to the Human Resources Department staff. Must be a Hamilton Count=
