Reader/Sorter Operator 
Business Unit:  FIG IP Operations - Central Region  
Location:  Cincinnati, OH  

Job Description:
Hours: M-F - 5:00am - 1:30pm 

POSITION PURPOSE: 
Under direct supervision, operates proof machine to record and prove records of 
bank transactions such as checks, deposit slips and withdrawal slips and 
processes non-truncated checking statements per department procedures. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
- Under direct supervision, operates proof machine to verify and sort items 
collected by tellers. 
- Under direct supervision, processes and separates deposits, withdrawals, 
cashed checks and loan payments. 
- Under direct supervision, counts checks and verifies to statement check 
count. 
- Stuffs matching statements and checks into envelopes for mailing. 
- Performs other work-related duties as required. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. 

Job Related Experience: Minimum of one-year experience as a proof 
operator/statement clerk. Must be able to follow established guidelines to 
accomplish tasks and solve routine problems, referring non-routine matters to 
supervisor. 

Functional Area Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge base focused on job duties and the 
skills required to complete duties, with basic knowledge of the organization in 
order to answer questions and a basic level of technical skills. Familiarity 
with banking operations is desirable. Ability to read and write. Ability to 
work independently. The ability to learn basic statement processing procedures. 
Good organizational skills.
