A Denver, CO life sciences company is seeking an Instrument Development R&D 
Engineer. Here is more information:

COMPANY
This company is redefining the state of the art in chemically-based 
bio-analytic methods. They combine expertise in surface chemistry with 
creativity in detection strategies and instrumentation. 
 
JOB SUMMARY
The R&D team is seeking an exceptional candidate to support lab tool 
development for R&D support with proprietary medical diagnostic 
instrumentation. The R&D Engineer will contribute significantly to the rapid 
design and development of lab tools, including flowcells, lab automation 
scripting, optical breadboards (or models) for detection systems, image 
analysis, and various other R&D equipment and software as they arise. 

The preferred candidate must have direct experience in two or more of the 
following technical areas:
Optical components and instrumentation, including imaging/microscopy, laser 
illumination, and camera systems 
Fluidic systems and fluid handling, with experience in small-scale fluidics 
strongly preferred 
Motion control systems, control scripting, and integration of electromechanical 
components 
Image analysis, particularly using rapid prototyping platforms such as LabVIEW® 
(preferred platform) 
Software integration and development, including data acquisition and control 
software for hardware systems 
The R&D Engineer will work closely with the staff biomedical scientists.

The candidate will ideally have a B.S. or M.S. degree in an engineering 
discipline and will have 3 to 10 years instrument development experience. 
Experience with medical diagnostic device development is preferred, as is 
experience working in an FDA or ISO 9001 regulated GLP environment.
