Proof Operator - PT 
Business Unit:  FIG IP Operations - Central Region  
Location:  Cincinnati, OH  
    
Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE: 
Receives, verifies and prepares client work (checks, deposits) for proof 
encoding operation and transit processing. Utilize a 10-key proof and encoding 
machine to add coded information (account numbers, dollar amounts) to client 
work (checks, deposits). 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives, verifies and prepares client work (checks, deposits) for proof 
encoding operation. 
- Operate proof machine to encode dollar amount and other required fields on 
documents. 
- Balance encoded work to provide totals. 
- Apply multi-bank procedures as directed. 
- Verify out of balance transactions within bank proof work. 
- Write correction forms and provide appropriate documentation to resolve out 
of balance items if required. 
- Prep work for sorter function. 
- Performs other work-related duties as required. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. 

Job Related Experience: 6 months item processing or related experience. Must be 
able to follow established guidelines to accomplish tasks and solve routine 
problems, referring non-routine matters to supervisor. 

Functional Area Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge base focused on job duties and the 
skills required to complete duties, with basic knowledge of the organization in 
order to answer questions and a basic level of technical skills. Familiarity 
with banking operations is desirable. Ability to read and write is required. 
Must possess the ability to work independently and learn basic item processing 
procedures. Good organizational skills. Ten key skills helpful. Must be able to 
work accurately in a time critical environment and meet performance 
expectations.
