Examples of Duties Performed:

This list of duties is not exhaustive, and duties may be added, deleted or

1.Editorial responsibility for choice and production of news items, stacking 
the news items in appropriate order to attain program goals, and oversee the 
technical execution and talent performance of specific newscasts.  The 
requirement is that we be balanced, accurate and fair in the content and 
attractive to view in the presentation of news stories.

2.Work with reporters to conceptualize, coordinate and edit news stories.

3.Supervise writers and tape editors as they produce content for the newscast.

4.Perform other duties as needed and directed by the News Director and other 
News managers.


Requirements:

Education: College degree preferred.

Experience: Two years producing and editing preferred.

Equipment: Knowledge of newsroom computer systems required.                

Skills/Abilities: Must work well in challenging situations; self-motivated; 
adaptable to changing schedules; work well with news personnel and other 
departments within the TV station.  Must be consistently diplomatic when 
dealing with the public.  Must have strong writing skills and keen editorial 
judgment.
