I have gone this route.  Not a lot of money, but the flying is great. My 
wife and I have taken 15 trips in less then a year.  We have gone places 
like Chicago, Boston and NYC just for dinner.  Since June 1, we have gone to 
Florida twice, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Washington and Chicago.  Planning a third 
trip to Florida, plus trips to Toronto and Portland ME in July. The only 
thing on the agenda for August in another trip to Chicago for my brithday.  
I work part time for Comair and there are always people to trade shifts 
with.  Again, not a lot of money, but if you like to travel -- try it.
