y a key leader for the critical position of General Manager =EF=BF=BD Large=
 Truck Division.  Our client is a well-known, privately held company specia=
lizing in expedited delivery and transportation services with a corporate h=
eadquarters based in the Greater Cincinnati area. This position reports dir=
ectly to the Vice President of Operations.  =20

Position Summary:
The General Manager is responsible and empowered to provide leadership and =
management of all components of the Large Truck Division. Through the effec=
tive management of employees and independent contractors, ensures profitabi=
lity, productivity, strong customer relations and the achievement of strate=
gic objectives. Exemplifies and maintains total compliance with the corpora=
tion's core values and concepts at all times.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:=20
=EF=BF=BD Develops and implements Strategic Plans which will assure that th=
e division meets corporate financial and strategic objectives.
=EF=BF=BD Monitors revenue and expenses and provides reports and analysis t=
o ensure profitability and efficiency of the operation.
=EF=BF=BD Coordinates performance audits as required.=20
=EF=BF=BD Assures that exceptional customer service is provided to meet or =
exceed external and internal customer expectations. Resolves customer conce=
rns, operational problems and billing inquiries in a professional and exped=
itious manner.
=EF=BF=BD Develops and maintains strong personal relationships with key cus=
tomers and vendors.
=EF=BF=BD Coordinates schedules and ensures most efficient use of labor and=
 resources to maximize business coverage and on-time completion of pick-ups=
 and deliveries. Provides cross-training and backup of personnel to ensure =
uninterrupted service.
=EF=BF=BD On-call for weekends and Holidays to address any problems that ma=
y arise.=20
=EF=BF=BD Trains, coaches and develops operations personnel, sales personne=
l, Independent Contractors and all other dedicated employees.  Provides ong=
oing coaching and mentoring and completes documentation for performance iss=
ues as well as yearly performance appraisal reports.
=EF=BF=BD Maintains competitive awareness.
=EF=BF=BD Safeguards company property and assets and ensures effective hous=
ekeeping/maintenance of building and grounds.
=EF=BF=BD Ensures that Independent Contractors follow all applicable compan=
y, federal and state rules, regulations and operating procedures. Supervise=
s attendance policy and provides approval of time off. Documents any perfor=
mance issues and counsels as needed.=20
=EF=BF=BD Operates in compliance with policy and procedure guidelines.
=EF=BF=BD Participates on and implements Associate Involvement Teams to inc=
lude high levels of participation of both employees and Independent Contrac=
tors.=20

Requirements_Qualif: Requirements:
=EF=BF=BD Bachelor's degree in Business or related field is preferred.
=EF=BF=BD 7 - 10 years of managerial experience in transportation/distribut=
ion/expedited delivery services is strongly preferred.=20
=EF=BF=BD Excellent management and people development skills with proven ex=
perience supervising, motivating and developing individuals at all levels.=
=20
=EF=BF=BD Strategic thinking both technically and about the business as a w=
hole with a love of challenges and the sense of pride it brings to solve th=
em.
=EF=BF=BD Strong project management skills and ability to implement and man=
age multiple projects.=20
=EF=BF=BD Ability to consistently meet/exceed commitments and provide excep=
tional follow-up.
=EF=BF=BD Desire to work in a fast- paced, evolving, and dynamic environmen=

=EF=BF=BD Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writ=
ing with people at all levels and in a diverse range of settings.
