Perform simple disassembly and assembly work, clean and recondition parts, =
lubricate, bolt, unbolt, wire brush and open and close inspection doors.=20
Prepare equipment work surfaces and areas by removing insulation guards and=
simple housings; remove pipe covering and insulation and prepare such surf=
aces for recovering. Erect and remove simple scaffolding and rigging.=20
Clean oil igniters and nozzles.=20
Mix refractory materials, obtain refractory brick and tile and prepare mort=
ar mix as directed; assist on masonry work.=20
Perform routine cleaning of plant areas and equipment, including outside ar=
eas, as assigned. Operate, clean and lubricate equipment necessary to perfo=
rm these tasks.=20
Load, unload, move and handle materials, supplies and equipment; open boxes=
, barrels, bags and other materials. Operate material handling equipment in=
cluding hoists, forklift trucks, skid steer loaders, small tractors and aut=
omotive equipment and their associated equipment and perform duties inciden=
tal to the operation of such equipment.=20
Isolate plant equipment and place/remove clearance tags.=20
Operate, regulate, adjust, clean and perform minor maintenance on bottom as=
h and flyash handling equipment, including associated pumps, piping and val=
ves.=20
Inspect, clean lubricate, adjust and operate coal handling equipment includ=
ing feeders, crackers, scalpers, diverter and shutoff gates; remove refuse =
coal and tramp iron from conveying equipment; operate emergency trip cord t=
o stop conveyor and reset emergency trip cords.=20
Monitor and inspect all plant equipment for normal operation. Identify and =
report abnormal conditions to the proper authority.=20
Assist in preparing boilers and auxiliaries for operation and removal from =
service.=20
Monitor coal feed to mills and burners and observe conditions of fires and =
furnaces.=20
Hand lance slag in boilers, hand-operating soot blowers, unplugging ash lin=
es, disposing of clinkers and other similar work.=20
Lubricate and check lubrication equipment; adjust packing glands as necessa=
ry and perform necessary operative maintenance, using appropriate hand tool=
s.=20
Utilize portable meters, analyzers and equipment to conduct tests and monit=
oring.=20
Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.=

Use flow diagrams to identify system piping and equipment and revise these =
prints as required.=20
Perform routine operation and maintenance of basic water treating systems, =
including chemical control, routine testing of effluents, inventory of bulk=
chemicals, chlorination and lubrication.=20
Make required equipment checks and assist in performing tests and preparing=
related reports, graphs and curves.=20
Assist in checking operations and maintenance projects for compliance with =
chemical standards and specifications compliance with chemical standards an=
d specifications.=20
Collect and prepare samples, operate sampling equipment and perform tests r=
equiring the use of basic analytical equipment and knowledge of common chem=
ical materials.=20
Prepare bulk supplies of chemicals to specific concentration; assist in spe=
cial analyses and tests necessary to regulate proper chemical treatment of =
system.=20
Blow out and clean lines to control equipment, meters, and gauges; clean fi=
lters in control systems and install temporary tubing.=20
Clean and mask surfaces preparatory to painting; perform paintings using br=
ushes or spray equipment with approved paints.=20
Perform minor maintenance work on heating and plumbing systems such as repa=
ir valves, repair and replace fittings and short sections of piping; clean =
and replace traps.=20
Perform rough carpentry work, make minor repairs to refractory, masonry, br=
ick or concrete walls and floors, perform rough plastering, replace glass a=
nd repair window and door hardware, except complex mechanism work.=20
Operate oil filtering equipment.=20
Perform duties in accordance with Company's safety rules, operating regulat=
ions and practices and report unsafe conditions and practices.=20
Train for and carry out assignments in fire fighting, first aid and other e=
mergency response programs as required.=20
Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.=20
Prepare and maintain records as required.=20
Assist employees as required.=20
Train other employees as required.=20
Report irregularities and abnormal conditions to the appropriate supervisio=

Requirements_Qualif: Must satisfactorily complete, in such time frames as m=
ay be established by the Company, all required training to advance to the E=
quipment Operator, Maintenance Mechanic-Junior, Coal Handler or Stores Atte=
ndant classification, or vacate the Equipment Operator-Junior classificatio=
n., Must be able to learn all applicable operating instructions and procedu=
res., 2-year technical degree, Must be able to learn the rules, safety prac=
tices and procedures applicable to the work., Must be able to learn the too=
ls and equipment and their use as required in the work., Must have demonstr=
ated the ability to physically and mentally perform work in all areas and h=
eights required., Must be able to understand the care and attention require=
d for the safe and efficient operation of equipment in the Energy Productio=
n Department., Must possess the appropriate State driver's license., Must b=
e able to read, interpret and work from simple pints and specifications., M=
ust have a working knowledge of OSHA and Environmental guidelines., Must be=
able to work effectively with other employees and learn to instruct and di=
rect other employees.
