ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following.  Other dutie=
s may be assigned.
1.=09Manages and has the ultimate responsibility for the engineering depart=
ment.
2.=09Planning the strategic short and long-range training needs.
3.=09Hiring people to accomplish future work load by evaluating performance=
 of department personnel and by taking all necessary action to fulfill an e=
ffective and positive working environment.
4.=09Budget responsibility for the engineering department.
5.=09Responsible for budgeting production equipment, labor for future produ=
cts, advise in budgeting for quality equipment and facilities necessities.
6.=09Responsible for investments, capacity planning and installation of all=
 production equipment.
7.=09Responsible for investigating and implementing new production methods.
8.=09Responsible for coordinating, investigating and implementing computer =
software used on a corporate base to support engineering and maintenance ne=
eds.
9.=09Interfaces directly with the design team (Elastmetall) and the sales o=
ffice in analyzing potential new business and clarify technical and adminis=
trative problems.
10.=09Cross-functional teamwork with other departmental managers.
11.=09Advise plant management in strategic decisions.
12.=09Responsible for ensuring that the department complies with TS 16949 s=
tandards.
13.=09Responsible for ensuring that the department complies with the compan=
y business plan.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.=09Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of=
 the engineering and maintenance departments.
2.=09Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organi=
zation=EF=BF=BDs policies and applicable laws.
3.=09Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;=
 planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding=
 and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems w=
ithin the engineering and maintenance departments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor=EF=BF=BDs Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university and a=
t least five years related experience or training in the automotive industr=
y.  Automation assembly experience a plus.  Project management experience. =
 Managed capital budget including selection and acceptance of equipment.  T=
eam manager/matrix organization a plus.
