Crown Solutions is seeking a Controls Engineer for a position located at ou=
r headquarters in Vandalia, OH to support our growing needs.  The ideal can=
didate will work on assigned projects to develop scopes of work, systems op=
erations, electrical and controls designs of equipment utilizing AutoCAD as=
 well as MS Office products and PLC programming software. This will include=
 the review/red lining of P&ID=EF=BF=BDs, general arrangement drawings, det=
ail mechanical drawings, and controls ladder diagrams, as well as developme=
nt of equipment submittal packages, bills of materials, programming, design=
 calculations, and equipment manuals.
Job Responsibilities
=EF=BF=BD=09To interact with the sales staff and engineering group to deter=
mine/verify project scope and operation.
=EF=BF=BD=09To work with the assigned engineers and engineering tech=EF=BF=
=BDs to design and detail new projects in both AutoCAD 2D and specific PLC/=
HMI programming software.
=EF=BF=BD=09To run basic hand calculations to size and select equipment suc=
h as transformers, motor disconnects, switches, etc.
=EF=BF=BD=09Work with engineering team, procurement team and suppliers to g=
ather the information required to create the detailed designs inputted into=
 the drawings, programming, and BOM.
=EF=BF=BD=09Participation and leading of project review meetings to help de=
termine the designs to be detailed, and changes/updates that will need to b=
e documented in CAD, on design calculations, and in the BOM.
=EF=BF=BD=09Maintain solid communications and relationships with customers.
=EF=BF=BD=09Develop and deliver equipment/control submittal drawings and re=
quired support documentation.
=EF=BF=BD=09To perform sign-off for a drawing release to manufacturing/fiel=
d.
=EF=BF=BD=09To work with manufacturing on the construction and assembly of =
projects on the shop floor.
=EF=BF=BD=09To finalize the as-built design documentation.
=EF=BF=BD=09To perform final calibrations and setups of all electrical equi=
pment.
=EF=BF=BD=09To perform the final testing and validation of the PLC/HMI and =
associated controls, with assistance of other engineers as required.=20
=EF=BF=BD=09To review a released project on the floor and sign off on the m=
anufacturing of the product from both a functional and quality aspect.
=EF=BF=BD=09To assist with the final project close out documentation update=
s.
=EF=BF=BD=09Write functional equipment manuals for designed equipment.
=EF=BF=BD=09To aid in the development of methods and procedures used to cre=
ate and archive electronic CAD and programming designs.
=EF=BF=BD=09Knowledge of key design standards including UL, CSA, NEMA, NFPA=
 79, IEC, ASTM, ANSI, etc.
=EF=BF=BD=09And other responsibilities assigned to insure the timely comple=
tion of projects.

=EF=BF=BD=09Preference is a four year degree in electrical/controls enginee=
ring or similar program with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
=EF=BF=BD=09Proficient with AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD electrical a plus.
=EF=BF=BD=09Previous experience with AB and other PLC and HMI software.
=EF=BF=BD=09Can perform design calculations for a variety of electrical dev=
ices.
=EF=BF=BD=09Has basic technical writing skills and can write technical repo=
rts and documents.
=EF=BF=BD=09Proficient with the use of other key software programs includin=
g:
o=09MS Outlook
o=09MS Word
o=09MS Excel
=EF=BF=BD=09Limited supervision is required.
=EF=BF=BD=09Travel of up to 25% will be required.
=EF=BF=BD=09Has the ability to learn quickly and advance upon what has been=
