JOB FUNCTION:
The Production Director is instrumental in growing the department and plays a 
key role in commissioning a new production facility, installing equipment and 
acquiring the necessary skill sets.  Her/his essential job function is to build 
a production unit, to expand production capacity and capabilities, and to 
manage the unit for the efficient, safe, and compliant manufacturing of peptide 
API's.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Plan and execute multiple projects in production and assign resources 
according to priorities and business requirements.
* Advise and drive installation of proction equipment and chemical utilities 
(solvent streams, waste streams)
* Recruit, coach and supervise production staff to meet quality, quantity and 
timeline requirements.
* Evaluate performance and train employees to the expected company standards.
* Scale-up and improve established processes with regards to cost, efficiency 
and safety.
* Adopt and implement new processes developed by R&D group.
* Make conscious use of resources and advise staff to do so.
* Ensure safe and compliant working habits in area of supervision.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Evaluate new techologies and instrumentation for the suitability in peptide 
API manufacturing.
* Increase efficiency by automation in peptide processing.
* Initiate and manage external contacts and collaborations to bring in 
additional skills required for the growth of the department.
* Contribute to defining new working standards in order to improve 
competitiveness.
* Represent Production for technical and scientific contacts with customers.
* Generate and present ideas and proposals and drive their realization.

COMPENSATION:
The low end of the salary range is mid-80's.  The high end of the salary range 
will vary depending upon the experience the candidate has to offer.  This

Requirements_Qualif: EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
* Successful track record as a scientist and project leader
* Experience in scale-up & development of chemical process.
* Broad knowledge of organic chemistry, incl. peptides.
* Several year industrial exp. in chemical or pharmaceutical industry, 
preferably peptide related.
* Several years supervisory experience as a line manager or project team leader.
* Experience with GMP or ISO standards preferred.
