JOB FUNCTION:
The Production Director is instrumental in growing the department and plays=
 a key role in commissioning a new production facility, installing equipmen=
t and acquiring the necessary skill sets. His/her essential job function is=
 to build a production unit, to expand production capacity and capabilities=
, and to manage the unit for the efficient, safe, and compliant manufacturi=
ng of peptide API=EF=BF=BDs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:=20
Plan and execute multiple projects in production and assign resources accor=
ding to priorities and business requirements.
Advise and drive installation of production equipment and chemical utilitie=
s (solvent streams, waste streams).=20
Recruit, coach, and supervise production staff to meet quality, quantity, a=
nd timeline requirements.
Evaluate performance and train employees to the expected company standards.
Scale-up and improve established processes with regards to cost, efficiency=
 and safety.
Adopt and implement new processes developed by the R&D group.=20
Make conscious use of resources and advise staff to do so.
Ensure safe and compliant working habits in area of supervision.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate new technologies and instrumentation for the suitability in peptid=
e API manufacturing.
Increase efficiency by automation in peptide processing.=20
Initiate and manage external contacts and collaborations to bring in additi=
onal skills required for the growth of the department.
Contribute to defining new working standards in order to improve competitiv=
eness.   =20
Represent Production for technical and scientific contacts with customers.
Generate and present ideas and proposals, and drive their realization.

COMPENSATION: =20
The low end of the salary range is mid-80=EF=BF=BDs. The high end of the sa=
lary range will vary depending upon the experience the candidate has to off=

PhD in organic chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering.
Excellent knowledge of English, oral and written.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:
Successful track record as a scientist and project leader.
Experience in scale-up and development of chemical processes.
Broad knowledge of organic chemistry including peptides.
Several years of industrial experience in chemical or pharmaceutical indust=
ry, preferably peptide related.
Several years of supervisory experience as a line manager or project team l=
eader.
Experience with GMP or ISO standards preferred.
