GENERAL PURPOSE
Implement client and infrastructure web-based client/server web sites. This 
role will entail one or more of the following; website development, e-commerce 
storefront development, back-office ERP integration, custom application 
development and database design & integration using industry 
standard and/or Oracle technologies. Four-year BS in Computer Science 
preferred, or at least four years work experience in Oracle-focused application 
development.

DUTIES
Develops web sites and applications for clients on a project or team project 
basis. Design relational database schemas utilizing common and three-tiered 
database structures. Create scalable applications understanding the 3-tiered 
client/server environment and recognize customer project needs. Communicate 
projected timeline, develop
applications according to customer specifications, provide detailed 
documentation of project work, and work with a team of developers to provide 
quality solutions for clients.
Modify and augment existing web applications/e-commerce applications.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND EDUCATION
Fluent understanding of HTML web language and is able to program applications 
in a non-GUI and GUI development tools such as Oracle JDeveloper, Oracle Forms 
& Reports, Macromedia DreamWeaver, MS Visual Studio, or other mainstream 
web-application development tools.
Strong competence in mainstream object oriented programming languages such as C 
and Java as well as strong experience with Oracle PL/SQL. A broad exposure to 
other technologies a must. Some of these languages may include; Perl, ASP 
(.Net), PHP, Visual Basic, JavaScript, DHTML, XML, ActiveX and 
COM object development. Strong experience with Oracle Portal for designing 
mission critical web delivered systems. Strong experience with Oracle Forms, 
Reports and Portal Forms & Reports toolsets. Experience in visual page layout, 
style sheet usage and proper W3C web design standards. Experience using Oracle 
8i, 9i in test, development, QA and production 
environments. Experience with Oracle Application Server (9i or 10g) and one of 
the following other application server platforms; Microsoft, Netscape, or 
Apache. Strong application-level security architecture and design skills and 
experience with SSL encryption. Strong Windows operating system and Microsoft 
Office skills, familiarity with MS Project to work with Project Managers. 
Unix/Linux skills a definite plus as many application environments are on 
these platforms.
