QUALITY MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:
Reports directly to the Technical Director and is charged with developing and
maintaining a system to assure that all products manufactured or purchased by
the organization meet customer specifications, achieve superior quality and
reliability levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops and implements a quality production program to ensure
conformity of purchased
material and final products to quality standards.
2. Provides direction and establish project priorities for the Senior
Quality Engineer.
3. Revises and updates the quality control manual to incorporate
statistical control programs.
4. Develops and maintains a supplier quality index, utilizing
statistical control programs, to assure that only high-quality vendors are
retained.
5. Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and
company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
6. Prepares for and represents the company during all SPEAR, SQA,
and related audits.
7. Coordinates and approves all sample submissions of new products
and engineering changes.
8. Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff
personnel.
9. Work closely with tank farm and batching personnel to ensure
integrity in all batching processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process
capability studies will become an intricate part of the quality assurance
program; therefore, formal education in courses related to these areas such as
mathematics, statistics, and industrial practices, are essential for this
position. Familiarity with MIL-SDS, ISO, and ANSI standards.
2 College degree required, BS Chemical Engineer, BS Mechanical
Engineer preferred.
3. Three to five years of quality management experience in a
manufacturing environment.
4. Some quality assurance practices as they apply to individual
unique products can be learned
during on-the-job training, but overall capability in this discipline must be
previously demonstrated.
5. Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal
communication skills.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS:
1. Reports directly to the Technical Director and is responsible
for product quality and batch integrity. As such, all managers within the
manufacturing operations will be reporting to this position in all matters
concerning quality.
2. Essential contact with all levels of customer organizations.
3. Promote teamwork. Be a team player. Support and participate in
organizational initiatives.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to move about the factory to include navigating
steps.
2. Must have the ability to operate a computer, copier, and other
office machinery.
