DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with ATA staff and airline members, this person is
responsible for creating and executing interactive tactics as part of an
integrated communications approach in support of the U.S. commercial =
airline
industry. This newly created position will advise, manage and execute
day-to-day online communications projects.=20
* Develop and maintain the association=92s online communication
vehicles in support of the association=92s stated objectives.
* Manage, update and organize overall Web content, ensuring that
editorial standards are followed and reaching intended audiences, =
including
ATA members, Congress, Wall Street analysts, news media, airline =
customers
and the general public.
* Direct the creation, development and distribution of =
e-newsletters
in HTML format as well as for mobile devices.
* Write e-newsletters and articles, educational documents, etc. =
for
Web sites.
* Write, edit and approve content from various departments for
posting online within their respective subject areas, as well as =
articles on
select issues or events.
* Continually review the public ATA Web site to ensure that
information remains fresh, has continuity and tone, and that all content
follows the ATA style guide and image parameters.
* Participate in design and development of Web advertisements =
with
the ability to edit/produce web-optimized graphics.
* Analyze Web metrics and search engine optimization to improve
future communications and provide status updates and reports.
* Research and stay current on the latest digital media trends =
and
techniques, and regularly share that knowledge with other staff.
* Serve as back-up to other communications functions as =
necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* A bachelor=92s degree or equivalent experience required, with =
at
least six years online communications experience in a professional
environment preferred. =20
* Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint (Moss 07), HTML, =
WebTrends,
Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and Microsoft Office highly desirable. =
Familiarity
with Adobe Flash a plus.
* Must understand wikis, blogs, pod/Webcasting, FaceBook, =
YouTube,
and SMS, etc. with the ability to anticipate emerging trends and
technologies and how they could be utilized to communicate ATA=92s =
messages. =20
* Excellent writing, editing & communications knowledge and =
skills
are required (AP style experience a plus).
* Must be creative idea generator with ability to tie Web
initiatives to traditional public relations initiatives.
* Must have demonstrated success in teaching, coaching and
counseling others about interactive tactics.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work =
independently,
think logically and manage time effectively in a fast-paced,
deadline-oriented work environment.
* Must be able to facilitate, communicate and advocate positions =
in
a positive, even-tempered, and non-confrontational manner with all =
levels
within and outside the organization.
* Aviation/aerospace and/or government relations background a =
plus.
