You cannot rely on getting a job that has not been offered so take =
whatever
is offered first as long as it fills your basic needs (income, benefits,
commute, ...) Do not fall in to the trap of turning down jobs while you =
are
waiting for the perfect position. Also, do NOT, NOT, NOT under any
circumstances mention anything to your employer about potentially =
getting
offered another job. That would be like telling your wife that you =
might
find someone better. Yikes!
P.S. For those of you still shopping for a spouse the "offered first" =
does
not apply but the "fills your basic needs of income, benefits, commute, =
..."
do apply. =3D)
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Subject: [jsfg_cinti] Job Opportunities conflict
Hello and a good day to all:
=20
=20
Well, it looks like there may be 2-3 different job opportunities out =
there
that I can choose from. Problem is, one is a permanent job (or maybe
temp-perm.) and the others are temporary only, I think. So I prefer the
permanent one but it's taking longer than I expected for that employer =
to
reach a hiring decision. Meantime, I could take one of the temp jobs, =
but
then if I get hired for the permanent job, what to do? What if I would
take a temp job and explain to the employer or recruiter that I may get
hired for a permanent job and if so, I'll be leaving the temp job to =
take
the perm one? Or would it be better not to mention it at all and just =
take
the permanent job when and if I get it? Any thoughts on how to handle =
this
dilemma are greatly appreciated.
=20
Thanks
