This is an excellent company in the consumer packaged goods industry with a
brand that is one the top 10 brands in the USA according to advertising age
magazine.
I am looking for A Research Manager, New Products/Aquisitions for a FORTUNE 500
category LEADER. the Research budget is approx. $2MM and the company is Known
for being an excellent place to work...very employee friendly...Rated #1
company to work for by a major business Trade journal.
LOCATION:
Mid size northern Mid-Atlantic town...tourist destination...very inexpensive
cost of living...close to several major metropolitan areas i.e. Washington DC,
NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore.
Responsiblities:
This position will provide management with objective, comprehensive,
consumer-based insights and actionable recommendations based upon that
information. The key focus area for this position is New Products,
particularly funnel and new platforms, and adjacency exploration. The key
function of this job is to partner with New Products and Adjacency marketing
and/or Senior Management to understand key business issues; suggesting,
designing, implementing and analyzing Consumer data to address these issues;
and providing actionable recommendations based on the research results.
Specific areas of focus will be risk management, the creating of competitive
advantage, and the exploration of new areas--such as adjacent categories or
demographic subgroups This position will be expected to integrate information
from multiple sources, to provide larger perspective on recommendations, and
will require fluency in syndicated data. This position will be expected to
prepare and present unbiased, action-oriented recommendations from the
research. This position will be expected to interact regularly with senior
management, and lead or participate on cross-functional task teams.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Marketing, Psychology,
Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related field. Master's Degree strongly
preferred.
Minimum of ten years of related market research experience or equivalent.
Specific methodological and system experience as follows:
a.. 8 to 10 years of project management experience with primary custom
research
b.. Working knowledge of traditional custom research techniques,
including, but not limited to--product testing, concept testing, volumetric
assessment, copy testing, in-market tracking, market mix modeling, package
testing, claims testing
c.. New Products research experience a plus
d.. Food research experience a plus
e.. Syndicated store and/ or panel data analysis a plus
SALARY:
Flexible in the $90K area + 10% bonus + 25% stock options depending on
experience.
