Infrastructure Engineer



The primary function of the Network Architecture Team is to provide core
network architecture design, monitoring, and support for the Kroger Network.
Kroger is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with at least 10 years
experience in network design and administration to perform
enterprise-engineering functions.  Candidate must have experience with
design and ongoing maintenance of a highly available enterprise network.



Essential Job Functions:

Provide internal integration for complex networking activities.
Research and Implement new networking strategies.
Maintain a highly available enterprise network.
Evaluate and implement new network services and features.
Provide technical guidance to other staff network engineers.
Provide third tier troubleshooting support as needed.


Requirements:



Industry Certification, CCIE is required.


Extensive experience with LAN and WAN design utilizing Cisco routing and
switching technologies in a highly available environment.

Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing fault-tolerant
campus or data center LAN?s.

Advanced knowledge of QoS implementation strategies and design for critical
applications
Experience with service provider networks and large enterprise networks.

Routing protocols experience (Static, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, IGRP, IsIS)
redistribution and summarization.

Routing protocol metric and settings configuration for desired traffic flow.

WAN capacity planning and recommendations based in IOS-based and well-known
tools.

Exemplary customer support skills with a proven track record of delivering
results in a fast paced environment.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical
personnel & customers.

Strong familiarity with Network Associates Sniffer and other common network
analysis/management tools.

Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently.

Ability to learn new technology quickly.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
