FYI
Here is a job opening at NIOSH, Cincinnati for clerical support person. That
is in the Norwood or Linwood area I thought you might know someone who would be
interested.

Working for the federal government has some nice benefits - some that may not
be as readily available in the private sector, esp for clerical support staff.
If you leave the government and come back years later, even in a totally
different type of position, in another agency, in another city, you pick up
where you left off with benefits, e.g. years of service toward retirement and
increased vacation time. The medical insurance has no limitations on
pre-existing conditions. I believe you can retire with health benefits with as
little as 10 years of service after age 55; of course the retirement income is
based on total years of service and highest 3 years. Basing it on the highest
3 years vs last 3 years lets you potentially reduce your work hours in the last
couple years without impacting the retirement as much as in other systems.

Janet
