[jsfg_cinti] JSFG Job Fair Oct 22 - statue & Advice

Good Morning Friends !
 

Reminder: JSFG Job Fair, Monday Oct 22 immediately following the normal
Monday member meeting

 

Status: 

     79 companies targeted 

     64 companies we have contact info (all contacted via email and/or
telephone)

       7 companies are already confirmed

       2 companies have given a tentative yes 

       we continue to contact companies as you give us contact info

       at this moment I estimate we will have 10-12 companies in total 

 

Advice: This is an important event for each of you ... and for JSFG so
please, please, please:

      Attend

 

      Bring your resume

 

      Dress for success - look professional for your own good and for the
good of future JSFG efforts

 

      Talk with every participating company, even if they don't have
positions matching your interests ... why? Because...

             - they may know someone who can help you

             - you might know someone who has the skills they need

             - it's good practice

             - it reinforces the professionalism of JSFG and its members

 

The plan:

     each participating organization will give a 2-3 minute overview of
themselves and what they are looking for (at the conclusion of our regular
meeting)

 

     each organization will have a table and chairs set-up on the main floor
of the church

 

     each of us will talk with each of them

 

As a result of your professionalism some of us will walk away with a
meaningful connection or two, and ...

 

... JSFG will be perceived as a professional and useful source of
career-minded individuals.

 

         ... this will be good for each of us and for all that follow us at
JSFG

 

                  ... Everyone goes away smarter and smiling 

 

So update your resume, shine your shoes, pick out those professional dresses
& suits, brush your teeth and post your warmest smile
