First, I hope that you heard about the meeting being cancelled this morning.
The traffic and road information I had in hand at 6 am did not appear to be
that great and warranted some action being taken. One thing that I learned
is that it is not that easy to get things broadcasted on the local TV
stations and secondly that we do not have a Meeting Cancellation
Notification Policy or System in place. My sense is the last thing one of us
needed this morning was to get into an auto accident. Thanks to all on the
Steering Committee for your assistance and patience with an early morning
wake up call.
In the Interim, we will use Channel 5 WLWT as the broadcast medium, since
they allow use without prior passwords being set up. Somehow the
information was sent to WLW radio. I suspect that Channel 5 News may have
sent the info. on to the radio station. But the best way to be informed will
be by e-mail on the jsfg_cinti@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx I will attempt to make any
decisions close to 6:15 am if needed, so if in doubt check your e-mail
before leaving for a meeting if the weather is questionable.
Some items that I wanted to share with the group this morning:
1) CONGRATULATIONS to Ross Pope and Lisa Pinaire who have graduated. Ross
is joining Dominion Enterprises. Lisa is returning to the class room but
this time as a teacher in a preschool. We wish both success in their new
opportunities.
Also, please note that Ennis Jones has a accepted a 3 month assignment.
Good luck Ennis.
2) OPEN POSITIONS:
We still have the Secretary role open and would appreciate someone stepping
up an filling in the gap. There is a job description on the website.
Lisa Pinaire took leadership for getting all of our media placements each
week after Tom graduated. Thanks for all of your time and support. There
is a notebook in the JSFG office that explains all media placements with
contacts and timing requirements. Please volunteer to perform this important
task (can be done from your home). If you are interested, please contact
Jackie Robinson or Amy Harten from our Marketing Committee.

5) I received an e-mail from a member suggesting that we consider developing
a special group to support the needs of professionals over 55. I am looking
for a leader and anyone else who has an interest in participating. We are
also interested in finding speakers, so if you know of any community groups
or professional groups that could support us, please pass the information
along.
