[jsfg_cinti] Re: Interview questions

The work ethic question sounds like either the interviewer is ignorant =
or
trying to throw you off with stupid questions to see how you react. =20

Everyone has their preferences/requirements for resumes. For example,
resumes for government position have no page limit. In fact, they =
expect
them to be very long because they want to know every single detail about
past work. However you would never give a private corporation such a
detailed, lengthy resume. Therefore, do not worry about whether your =
resume
marches their exact preferences because there is no way you can know or
match every employer's preferences. As a business person with a lot of
experience my preference is to have just years on my resume. If I was =
very
young or a new college grad and had a lot of different jobs then I might
want to include months & years in order to better demonstrate the =
quantity
of experience.

I do not include years of graduation on my resume because I feel it can =
give
away a person's age and you can be penalized if you were an adult =
student -
like you did not work as hard to obtain your degree. Not true. =3D)

Subject: [jsfg_cinti] Interview questions

Hello and a good day to all!
  =20
I had an interview last Wednesday and as it turns out it seemed like a
behavioral interview, at least there were some of those types of =
questions
posed by the interviewer. One question which he asked me, which I had a
problem with was: How would I describe my work ethic? What does he mean?
What is work ethic? Is it different things to different people and =
different
work environments?
  =20
Also, he was looking over my resume and suggested that I put months in
with the years I was employed at past employers. Good idea, or not?
  =20
And he suggested I put the date I graduated from college in the =
education
section. What's he asking for -my age? That's something that I refuse to =
do,
put the date of graduation.
  =20
Maybe I could have asked him why he suggested these things.
  =20
  Any comments greatly appreciated.
