Vinh:
From my frontdoor experience with McKenzie Scott, I would be careful, and
walk away with
your money in pocket. Why? Heres why.
The first preliminary interview went well. He was a little flustered that I
had to reschedule.
On the second overview, I had to wait 45 minutes because someone showed up
1/2 hour late
early in the morning (8:00 am) - and my overview was at 1:30 pm. He said
his schedule
was all pushed back (boo hoo). To get to the details,
they wanted $5500.00 up front from me. Mainly, because of their resume
writing service.
of which, I really don't think it is that much better than a text book
resume. They showed
me 3 different styles and examples taken from someone with a similiar
backround. Also,
I would suggest something like dice.com or somebody else (5 buck blast)
before paying
that much money for a resume writing/sending service. Brian Schlue
is the contact at Bank One plaza off of Montgomery Rd. He came from
Bernard Haldane and Associates. I and him had a little chat in the
preliminary interview
and he mentioned how Bernard is a cash cow and likes to take people's money
and watch them sweat - (in other words, you do all the work while
they go to the bank). Personally, I don't think McKenzie Scott is much
different since the
first day includes 7+ hours of intensive question answering on an internet
survey and questionnaire.
Also, Brian couldn't stop mentioning that there was a personality conflict
when he was working for
Bernard Haldane & Associates. Its bad when someone can't stop talking about
their exemployer. Too many grudges he is carrying from his previous
employer (the guy who is now branch manager at Bernard Haldane).
Also, if McKenzie Scott works so well, then why can't they promise
you a job in your current geographical area? Also, why do they have to send
out so many resumes? I believe theres more to a resume than numbers. That
is my personal
opinion of course. Also, if it works so well, why can't they just include
the fees upon placement.
In other words, its part of the contract you sign up front instead of asking
for all
the money up front. I can't see paying for something you don't get until
3 months later - thats denial in a big way.
At the preliminary, he kept asking me where I dreamed of living, instead of
where
is the places I can work (likes and dislikes at the job). Personally, I
think they are trying to sell something that will never happen. Almost like
a weird dream. To me, McKenzie Scott is nothing more than a flashy name
with a dreamweaver website. Email me if you wish. If you do go ahead and
decide to pursue this,
I suggest getting everything in large bold font print before signing on the
x______________.
With Sincerity,

Subject: [jsfg_cinti] Info. on McKenzie Scott org. as of 2/26/03
Hi,
I am looking for any references from anyone who had used McKenzie Scott org.
in the past 6 months and let me know how their "money back guarantee" and
"satisfaction guarantee" working? Since they do not release references, I
am not sure if their service is right for me? Basically they want a LOT OF
MONEY up front, and will do the marketing campaign and distribution of your
resumes for you. "Money back guarantee" says that "within 90 days, if you
do not have a job offer, they will rebuild and redo your resumes", and this
service is available for 1 year.
Thanks,
Vinh Chhuon
