Job Description

  * Manages and interprets the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  * Conducts fact-finding investigations for grievances and employee
disciplinary issues.
  * Facilitates grievance dispute resolution, processes, and tracks
grievances.
  * Prepares strategy for break through culture change initiatives e.g.
alternative shift schedules, incidental work, high performance work
practicesand multi-tasking.
  * Develop/Revise and administer hourly employee policies.
  * Provide counsel and support to Managers, Team Advisors on all hourly
employee relations/development issues including disciplinary actions.
  * Manage hourly bonus plan and COLA.
  * Establishes and maintains positive rapport with union officials.
  * Participates on Modern Operating Plan (MOP) initiatives.
  * Conducts local wage/benefit surveys
  * Apprenticeship committee member. 


Qualifications

  * Bachelor?s degree in a related field required, Masters degree strongly
preferred.
  * 1 ? 5 years HR Experience, with at least one year experience in a
unionized environment.
  * Proven bias for action. 
  * Passion for handling people equitably. 
  * Proven responsiveness to the expectations and requirements of customers.
  * Knowledge about how organization functions; knows how to get things done
in a matrix organization.
  * Relates well to all kinds of people; builds appropriate rapport;
practices attentive and active listening. 
  * Proven judgement about which creative ideas and suggestions will work;
can facilitate effective brainstorming.
