My name is Michael Wood and I'm the Lead Director for CINNUG (the
Cincinnati .NET Users Group). Last summer CINNUG created a new special
interest group called CinARC for people interested in Software
Architecture. While it is a SIG under the .NET group we are taking a
holistic approach to the group and are attempting to stay platform
agnostic so that people not using .NET can still get benefit from the
group. However, one of the side effects of coming from a .NET group is
that most of our membership currently has a .NET background, but we really
want to expand our membership to include perspectives from people of other
platforms and technologies. After all, software architecture is rarely
black and white about platform. I'm writing you in hopes that you can
advertise our user group to your members. If anyone is interested we'd
love to have them come check us out.
Our group is not usually the traditional eyes-front presentations, rather
we generally have open discussions about topics that our attendees vote
on. This keeps us focused on topics the attendees are interested in and
that are pertinent. While the group may have some presentations in the
future, for now we focus on either an open spaces or fishbowl format.
We meet the Third Thursday of every month at MAX Technical training in
Mason, OH. (http://www.maxtrain.com). We post up topics that have been
submitted for the meeting on our CINNUG website (http://cinnug.org), but
we also take topic ideas on meeting nights. If you could please tell your
members about us that would be great! Likewise, if you have an event or
topic you'd like to share with our members I'd be happy to advertise
it.
Regards,
Mike Wood, CINNUG Director
