I'm looking for a *Sr. Sourcing / Purchasing Agent* (with a $700M Global
Company).  Position is based in Northwest Pennsylvania.  They are looking
for someone with either a background in global sourcing, especially in China
and India *OR* someone with purchasing background in (stampings, castings,
forgings and plastics).  *Do you know anyone that would be interested?*


Candidate must be able to be hands on and work independently, due to the
fact that the manager of this position works out of another
location.  Sourcing will be done both domestically & international (Mexico,
Europe, India, China).  Base salary for this individual contributor will be
in the $80-90K range, plus bonus (which has paid out for the last 5-yrs),
and a relocation package.**

*SR. SOURCING / PURCHASING AGENT *(Western Pennsylvania)

The Senior Sourcing/Purchasing Agent works globally, crossing functional and
regional organizations to optimize the company's leverage for the assigned
commodities.

*NATURE and SCOPE*

Leads negotiations that result in multi-year or complex agreements that may
contain price escalators/de-escalators and/or ties to certain indices, etc.
Independently negotiates through difficult situations and is capable of
communicating status/results to all levels of the organization as
appropriate. The position proactively recognizes shifts in demand and
manufacturing capability/capacity within the supply base and companies
manufacturing plants.

Composes, then reviews and modifies relatively complex business agreements
and other contractual instruments.  Drive all key component sourcing
alternatives/decisions, whether domestic or offshore.  Develops and
implements creative and effective supplier performance metrics.  Responsible
for anticipating changes in demand and/or material costs by maintaining
close communications with the supply base, sales, engineering, and
manufacturing entities.  Utilizes this information in creation of forecast
models to be utilized by upper management.

Provides leadership in identifying and responding to inventory issues
related to flow, turns, and economic order quantities, length of the supply
chain, storage requirements, and obsolescence.   Actively collaborates with
international counterparts to make effective supply decisions, leveraging
global volumes and use of foreign and domestic suppliers with unique
capabilities and/or cost structures.

*ACCOUNTABILITIES*

Accountable for designing the supply base for assigned commodities.  Able to
interpret the marketplace, regional supplier competitiveness, global
economics and raw material trends are critical to creating a competitive
advantage for the business.

Responsible for delivering cost improvement goals for her or his assigned
categories, and the deployment of various contracting vehicles to secure
negotiated results and improve cost predictability.  These professionals are
required to display a mastery of supplier segmentation, create scenarios to
optimize purchasing leverage.

 Diagnose root cause and corrective action when supplier improvement is
needed, and have a keen ability to detect opportunities for supplier
development.  Manage the time-line and cross-functional participation
required to drive the improvement and/or development plans to conclusion.

 *ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

*Manage the follow:*

> Supplier selection process

> Supplier's participation in the BID & AIM processes

> DPO performance

> Supplier delivery FOCUS program to resolve tactical performance issues

> RFQ and bidding process

> Supplier score-carding process

> Government & trade compliance

*Other job duties include:*

> Complete regional market studies and plan global sourcing activities

> Develop international logistics plans

> Implement required supplier long term agreements and contracts

> Prioritize and manage supplier development activities

> Provide outsourcing solutions

> Plan and achieve deflation goals

*JOB REQUIREMENTS** *

Knowledge of *global sourcing *techniques,* especially in China, India
and/or Europe **OR** a *minimum of 3-5 years experience dealing with* metal
fabrication, stampings, forgings, castings and plastics.**  *International
terms and logistics.  Currency management techniques.  Expert negotiator,
capable of preparing for and conducting complex negotiations.  Understanding
of price volatility management tools such as hedging, forward buying,
etc.  Capable
of complex analysis and use of decision-support tools.  Understands and can
utilize financial decision making models such as make/buy, allocation
justification (NPV, IRR, etc), profitability and landed cost modeling.  Very
strong communication and presentation skills.  BS/BA in Engineering,
Business or Supply Chain Management.


*The candidate must be a self-starter and be able to succeed without direct
supervision, mainly because this position will work remotely.  The company
has a decentralized Procurement Organization and the Manager of this
position is based in a different location.*
