Subject: Looking for Distributor purchasing experience
Just wanted to see if you know anyone with purchasing experience for a
Distributor.  I have an opportunity for a Manager of
Purchasing/Materials in Pittsburgh PA for a Distributor in Industrial
Supplies/Products.  They are looking for someone with a background in
purchasing with a "Distributor", primarily with industrial products

Manager ? Purchasing & Materials

Pittsburgh, PA

Overall position is responsible and accountable for developing policy
and strategic direction for Purchasing, Materials Management and
Logistics functions that support the financial objectives.
Communicate, interface and coordinate with all departmental and
customer service center functions within the Company.  This position
will manage of group of 16 employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage, develop and implement purchasing policies, strategy, goals and
objectives for commodity purchases, materials management, logistics
and purchase services.  Select, consolidate, evaluate and approval key
manufacturers and suppliers while looking to leverage and negotiate
cost reductions.  Develop strategy and tactical plans to project
appropriate inventory replenishment investment to support customer
demands.  Review, negotiate and execute distributor and transportation
agreements.  Provide guidance, approval and disposition of under
performing inventory.  Develop resale-pricing patterns for certain
commodities as well as recommend resale-pricing patterns.  Prepare,
submit and monitor annual department operating and salary budgets.
Member of the Corp. Management Team in developing corporate policy and
strategy.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have (Industrial ? MRO) distributor experience in the area of
purchasing.  Previous management experience is required.  BA/BS in
Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business.  Minimum of 8 years
experience as it related to the responsibilities above.  Must have
strong negotiation skills and proven supplier consolidation and
supplier reduction.  Background in industrial materials, MRO,
industrial equipment and industrial operations as it relates to
purchasing and materials management.
