Job Description ? Manager of Direct Marketing and Sales

Experience
At least 5 years of successful marketing and managing sales of products to
K-12 teachers, principals, and district level personnel. Clear evidence
of increased significant sales as a result of his/her performance.
Personal experience in interacting with the end users identified above.
Experience selling educational software is very strongly preferred.

The Company
FSC is a software development company with a 14-year history of success in
providing a wide variety of K-12 educational products to teachers and
students. Well over 100 products have been created and sold, primarily to
textbook publishers. Our core products are currently in use by several
hundred thousand teachers. The new initiative is to directly market
proprietary products to districts, schools and teachers rather than
through publishers.

Overview
This is a new position at FSC with a small staff reporting to it (2 at
present). We are looking for a key person with the knowledge to
successfully mount direct mail, email, and telesales campaigns to sell our
existing software products and new ones as they come on line. The
position carries and attractive salary and a significant bonus option
based on revenue generated. We fully expect the staffing of this area to
grow rapidly with increased revenue, this is a position for someone
interested in actively helping FSC expand its business.

Key Details of the Position
1. Developing direct mail and email campaigns for each product,
including
budgets, materials, and schedules.
2. Designing and managing telephone sales campaigns.
3. Training staff members to be increasingly effective in
telephone sales
campaigns.
4. Maintaining customer databases.
5. Ensuring that product support functions are adequately staffed
as part
of the telesales efforts.
6. Strongly advocating and influencing teachers to regard our
products as
the best in the market

Degree requirements: Bachelor?s degree minimum.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.

Reports to: Director, Marketing and Sales Group
