Sales Representative

F+W Media is seeking a results-driven advertising sales professional
to serve as Sales Representative for its Memory Makers and
MyCraftivity brands. The Sales Representative is responsible for
developing and implementing sales action plans that profitably grow
advertising revenue for Memory Makers magazine and its related online
properties, as well as MyCraftivity - on line crafting community. In
this role, he/she is expected to maintain and grow his/her own sales
territory. This position will be filled by someone who is passionate
about the scrapbooking and crafts industries. Previous experience in
these industries a plus. 

Advertising Sales and Account Management: 
. Sales planning for each brand to meet and/or exceed budget targets 
. Sell all display advertising, classified display advertising and
online advertising/sponsorships for Memory Makers magazine, its
affiliated online properties, and MyCraftivity. 
. Initiate, develop & present sales proposals and presentations 
. Complete request-for-proposals (RFPs) for ad agencies. 
. Actively develop and grow an account list of new and existing business 
. Develop & nurture relationships with top industry executives 
. Attend key industry trade shows 

Communication: 
. Keep management informed of all significant business/sales/industry
developments 
. Routinely give management & editorial staff market feedback
pertaining to product offerings and market changes 
. Routinely provide management with a analysis of the competition as
it pertains to advertising sales (i.e. pricing, marketing packages, etc.) 

Market Knowledge: 
. Must have a thorough understanding and passion for the scrapbooking
market 
. Must have a thorough understanding of the media marketplace today -
especially magazines and internet 
. Work closely with editors and publisher to develop new product
lines that extend advertising sales opportunities for these brands in
existing and new markets 

Travel: 
. Maintain a consistent presence in the market 
. Manage travel schedule and budget to achieve maximum productivity

Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree with 2+ years direct sales; print and online ad
sales experience required, including proven track record of successful
accomplishments selling key accounts. Experience in the scrapbooking
or craft market desirable. 
. Must be a strong creative thinker who can handle a high level of
responsibility and who is capable of problem solving, long range sales
development and can adapt well and respond to changing markets. 
. Must have exceptional organizational skills, with ability to
multi-task and be deadline driven. 
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with
strong follow-up skills and detail oriented. 
. Computer skills to include: MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Ad or
Contact Management systems
