> Job Description: Purpose: As a key executive in the company, the VP of
Information Technology and Business Systems is responsible for the overall
technical success of software products, managing new product development,
quality assurance, and the growth and development of a team of approximately
15 software development professionals.
> Responsibilities:
> · Plans and directs all aspects of the software development efforts to
ensure that all product development, testing, ongoing maintenance and
documentation milestones are accomplished as scheduled.
> · Drives the technology vision for product architecture, development and
deployment to support a robust and scalable enterprise product suite.
> · Creates plans for the implementation of new technical projects or
product lines in conjunction with Sales, Product Management and Customer
Support to guarantee that products meet the real functional, reliability and
performance needs of prospective customers with a heightened sensitivity for
time-to-market.
> · Formulates strategic technology decisions related to the most effective
and efficient methods to deliver premier products and technical services to
existing and prospective clients. Manages all efforts to the departmental
budget.
> · Staffs, supervises, mentors and leads a team of highly skilled software
developers and managers.
> · Contributes to the company's direction and strategic vision as a member
of the Executive Management Team.
> Requirements: Education, Experience & Key Competencies:
> The ideal candidate will have:
> · BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with an MS degree
preferred
> · 8 years software development senior management experience with
increasing responsibility
> · Significant background in building enterprise software, preferably with
a web based infrastructure and relational database technology
> · Significant experience in delivering enterprise software through an ASP
& licensed software model.
> · A demonstrated the ability to both build and manage a development team
> · Mastery of current information management technology, business systems,
development methods and controls.
> · A demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously through
effective project management approaches
> · A proven track record of successful product deliveries and technical
achievements
> · The ability to provide hands on leadership in defining architectures,
designs, processes, and all other aspects of a software development team.
> · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
> · Senior management presence and skilled judgment
> · A solid success oriented work ethic, along with forward-looking
team-oriented enthusiasm and initiative
> · A technically oriented development background: Ideal demonstrated
proficiencies will include: VB, C++, Java, XML, voice XML, SQL, .NET, Web
Sphere, development in an AS400 environment; solid knowledge of relational
database, data warehousing, and client server technologies;
> o 4+ years Internet and e-Commerce development experience, strong tech
understanding of current Internet and e-Commerce technologies, experience
with XML-based e-Commerce and Emerging Wireless Data technologies, a
thorough knowledge of Windows 98, Windows CE, NT 4.0, SQL Server 7.0, UNIX
interfacing, and HTML;
> o Mastery with Internet application provisioning technologies (ASP) a
MUST.
> Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated expertise in
desired technologies, working knowledge integrating speech recognition
software into applications, wireless applications, and some level of
exposure dealing with the medical community.
