This is a working manager position that requires both Technical and
Management skills. This position manages the OS\390 group of Bank
One's Enterprise Level III Technical Support team within Enterprise
Computing. This position will also manage a cross functional team of
OS\390, DB2, IMS, CICS, MQ and ISV software engineers responsible
for the day-to-day support of Bank One's OS\390 and z\OS systems.
This position will work closely with several Infrastructure and
Operations organizations such as Mainframe Engineering, Performance
Engineering, MF Operations, Production Assurance and Enterprise
Command Center to ensure high availability and deliver quality support
services. This high-energy, results oriented job requires a balance of
strong HR management, project management, leadership and technical
skills, a sense of urgency resolving problem issues, creativity,
adaptability to changing business conditions and a commitment to
customer satisfaction. Management responsibilities includes personnel
performance management, training, and on call rotation. Additional
responsibilities will be to manage a group of systems engineers to
Assist MF Engineering in the installation of new software product
versions/releases. Research and apply proactive software
maintenance. Perform level III problem diagnostics and resolution.
Monitor systems performance and tune when appropriate. Provide input
to engineering on infrastructure architecture related issues. Use
performance reports/metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Train
Command Center personnel. Conduct Production Readiness Inspections
of change events, assessing impacts and risks. Develop wellness
check scripts, processes and procedures for level II support personnel.
Contribute to Root Cause Investigation. Document changes to
infrastructure configuration. Support and contribute to Bank One
projects and initiatives. Update system configuration and resource
definitions when required. Develop and communicate IT standards.

Ideal candidate must have 7+ years production support management
and process management experience. Experience managing, installing,
configuring, implementing, tuning, and debugging OS\390 & z\OS in a
large I.T. environment; leadership in mainframe projects; current
experience. This job will encompass managing a variety of mainframe
OS\390 and z\OS operating system software
installation/maintenance/support assignments. It may also include ISV
product functionality comparisons, de-commissioning of existing
products, installation of new products, transitioning products from test to
QA to production environments, and providing business area / end user
technical support. SKILLS REQUIRED: A minimum of 5 years direct hands-on
experience performing OS\390 and z\OS systems
programming maintenance/installation, JES2, IBM Program Product
installations, and Independent Software Vendor (ISV) installations*
Thorough knowledge of SMPE desired* Experience with IBM RACF,
CA/ACF2, or CA Top Secret desired.
