In this market, our clients are setting VERY specific qualifications for =
their positions. They insist that we only present candidates that meet =
all of their absolute requirements. Many of our candidates tell us, "The =
best candidate for a job is not always the person that has done the =
exact same job before". However, companies that are making hiring =
decisions are asking us to find people who have done that exact job =
before. They CAN be very picky. We can only present up to 10 candidates =
for each position. Sometimes a candidate may qualify, but not make it =
into the Top 10 because there are other candidates that are more =
qualified. We wish that we were able to present more candidates to our =
clients who are a close match -- but our clients would discontinue their =
relationship with us if we did not follow their guidelines and =

market, imagine what it is like for recruiting agencies to find paying =
clients! We have to give the clients exactly what they want, or they =

POSITION: Sales Executive position. Initially, this position is an =
individual contributor position. The company is growing quickly, so =
there is a possibility of advancement based on performance. But, no =
promises will be made at this time.=20
COMPANY: Pre-IPO software company headquartered in Israel. The company =
is well-funded and backed by several top-tier VC firms.=20
LOCATION: Position will be headquartered in Denver, CO. Relocation will =
be considered on a case by case basis. Working remotely is NOT an =
option. Company is HQ in Israel. Past experience with Israeli companies, =
acquaintance with "Israeli mentality" is preferred.=20
COMPENSATION: Base salary is expected to be around $80-100k; should be =
able to double that with commissions.=20
PERSONAL SUMMARY: Position will initially report to the CEO unless the =
VP of Sales is hired before you start. Then, position would report to VP =
of Sales. The CEO is only going to hire "A" players that are better than =
him in their area of expertise. He does not have the time to =
micromanage. His focus in on strategy and developing the business.=20
The CLIENT WOULD LIKE TO SEE PEOPLE FROM THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES (OR =
COMPANIES THAT COMPETE WITH THESE COMPANIES): Oracle, SAP, Siebel, or =
2nd tier software; HP Openview, Computer Associates, IBM Tivoli, Mercury =
Interactive, Micromuse; BEA, IBM, Amdocs, any ASP companies like Corio =
or US Internetworking. Also, any venture backed software companies that =
compete with these companies.=20
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:=20
=B7 Must have recent experience as a Sales Executive for a public =
software company and/or a Venture-backed software and/or ASP company? =
This is an absolute requirement. The CEO will not interview any =
candidates who do not have this specific experience.=20
=B7 Must have a record of quota over-achievement. Must be able to =
outline your sales track record over the last 5+ years. Be clear about =
your sales achievements; need to know numbers--not just percentages; =
want to know what you personally did versus what your team/ company did =
as a whole. E.g. in 2002 at ABC Company-I personally sold $X, achieving =
x% of quota, was part of a 3 person team & they sold $X-achieving x% of =
quota, 2001-personally sold $X-achieving x% of quota, etc. This is an =
ABSOLUTE requirement so please give specific and detailed information =
that can be easily referenced on your resume.)=20
=B7 Must have closed deals within the last five years with telecom =
companies, ISPs, big hosting companies that manage huge data centers, =
and/or Fortune 1000.=20
=B7 MUST be comfortable breaking into big accounts and closing big =
deals. Must be able to list 5 deals that you have closed within the last =
five years. Must be able to name the account, size (e.g. $10k license =
fee with $1500/yr maintenance contract, $30k consulting services over 3 =
month contract, etc.), explain what you sold (software, solution, =
professional services, etc.) and who you sold it to (IT dept, Marketing, =
COO, etc.)=20
=B7 Prefer someone with experience selling to the CIO, CTO and/or the GM =
of the hosting business or data center business.=20
=B7 Very aggressive, seasoned, independent self-starters are a must. =
Need Hunters who can uncover and close new deals.=20

skills and experience directly to our client. We have received GREAT =
feedback about this new process from our clients including the fact that =
they have been able to interview and hire more of our candidates in less =
time because of this new process!!!=20
4. Considering today's difficult market, I have had to spend the =
majority of my time developing new business-and it has really paid off! =
