Currently, we are recruiting for four positions for a well funded, Israel-based 
software company that is expanding operations into the U.S. The following 
positions are open: CTO, IBM Channel Manager, VP of Sales, and Sales Executive. 
This email is regarding the CTO position. (You will receive an email about the 
other positions separately.) I will begin benchmarking candidates in seven

The CTO position will either be Denver or Israel based, depending on the 
candidate. If you are interested in this position, then please review the

If you are one of the Top 10 candidates selected to be presented for the 
position, then I will give you the name of our client and ask for your

documents before making any interview decisions. 

In this market, our clients are setting VERY specific qualifications for their 
positions. They insist that we only present candidates that meet all of their 
absolute requirements. Many of our candidates tell us, "The best candidate for 
a job is not always the person that has done the exact same job before". 
However, companies that are making hiring decisions are asking us to find 
people who have done that exact job before. They CAN be very picky. We can only 
present up to 10 candidates for each position. Sometimes a candidate may 
qualify, but not make it into the Top 10 because there are other candidates 
that are more qualified. We wish that we were able to present more candidates 
to our clients who are a close match -- but our clients would discontinue their 
relationship with us if we did not follow their guidelines and requirements. If 
you think it is hard for people to find jobs in this market, imagine what it is 
like for recruiting agencies to find paying clients! We have to give the 
clients exactly what they want, or they won't hire us either. Our goal is to 
help companies grow and succeed in the future by finding them the talent that 
they are looking for today.

POSITION: Chief Technology Officer 

COMPANY: Pre-IPO software company headquartered in Israel. The company is 
well-funded and backed by several top-tier VC firms. 

LOCATION: Position will either be Denver or Israel based, depending on the 
candidate. Regular travel is required between Israel and Denver, as well as to 
customers, partners, conferences, etc. Working remotely is NOT an option. CEO 
will consider relocating the right candidate. Company is HQ in Israel. Past 
experience with Israeli companies, acquaintance with "Israeli mentality" is 
preferred. 

COMPENSATION: Compensation will depend upon experience, performance and 
location. CEO will offer a competitive compensation package for the right 
candidate. 

PERSONAL SUMMARY: CEO is only going to hire "A" players that are better than 
him in their area of expertise. He does not have the time to micromanage. His 
focus in on strategy and developing the business. He wants someone with an 
outgoing, dynamic personality who can explain technology to wide-ranging, 
technical and non-technical audiences. 


POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

· Must have someone with experience as the CTO (or equivalent) at a 
venture-backed and/or public software company, preferably with an Israel 
company with U.S. headquarters. This is an absolute requirement. The CEO will 
not consider candidates who do not have this specific experience. 
· Prefer someone with experience in a software company that sells to both 
telecoms and enterprises, preferably in the provisioning, OSS, BSS, systems or 
network management space, or any company that sells software to data or hosting 
centers. 
· Prefer someone with experience serving on standards bodies, speaking at 
conferences, selling to customers, and responding to Telcos' RFPs. 
· Prefer someone with experience in evaluating acquisition and partnership 
opportunities; evaluation experience would include strength and strategic fit 
of technology, as well as overall architecture and interfaces. 
· Experience as a head of R&D in a venture-backed or public software company is 
ideal, as CEO will want the CTO to help the head of R&D with various 
activities. 
· Must have the ability to lead the customers' solutions/ system architecture, 
and help customers integrate the company offering with their existing and 
future data center investments. 
· Must have the ability to analyze new relevant technologies and trends, and 
build plans for integration/ evolution into company products. 
· Prefer someone with experience leading the technology side of strategic 
initiatives while working in synergy with marketing and business development. 
· Prefer someone with a PhD in computer science, physics or electrical 
engineering.

from our clients including the fact that they have been able to interview and 
hire more of our candidates in less time because of this new process!!!

time developing new business-and it has really paid off! Plus, I have to travel
