searching for a Production Manager to lead a 3-shift batch chemical processing 
operation to deliver results in the following areas: productivity, inventory, 
shipping, first pass production rate, unit costs, production of non conforming 
products, safety and housekeeping.  This is the ideal role for someone who is 
enthusiastic and passionate about reaching established stretch goals and 
objectives.  Meanwhile, our client is a financially stable, well-positioned, 
privately-owned company who is recognized and respected within the industry as 
a provider of high-value products and excellent service and after-sale support. 
 This position is located near Columbus, Ohio.  I have attached a more detailed 
position description for your review.

Production Manager
COLUMBUS, OHIO

This Position Reports to:  Director of Manufacturing

Position Location:  US, Ohio-based Company

Compensation:  Base Salary consistent with relevant skills & experience, Profit 
Sharing, Excellent Benefit Package

Key Candidate Requirements:

 

    Effective manufacturing and project leadership skills - hands-on shop floor 
experience

    Proven supervisory/leadership skills

    Demonstrated performance through meeting and/or exceeding established goals

    Technical aptitude in a manufacturing environment

 

Experience in the following areas:

                                                                                
                                                                                
                                

·   More than 10 years of production management / process manufacturing in the 
chemical industry; mid to large size batch processing company with both manual 
and automated processes.

·   Cross functional leadership experience, managing direct/indirect reports; 
provide leadership to salaried as well as unionized employees.

·   Solid technical aptitude; engineering background preferred.

·   Analytical Trouble shooting tools in problem resolution and process 
optimization.

·   Exceptional communication skills both internally and externally, at all 
levels and with all business functions- phone, e-mail, written documentation.

·   Skilled and experienced in addressing multiple priorities/projects with 
minimum direction while prioritizing and maintaining focus. 

·   Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively 
within a flat, non-hierarchical organization.

·   Background of promoting safe work practices to ensure safety standards are 
met on a daily basis

·   Familiarity with Union practices.

·   Structured; focused; well organized; strong sense of accountability.

·   Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products (Outlook, Word, 
PowerPoint, Excel) 

·   BS Engineering or related technical degree; APICS certification a plus.

 

MAJOR DELIVERABLES

 

·   Consistently meet or exceed performance metrics for productivity, 
inventory, shipping, first pass production rate, unit costs, production of non 
conforming products, safety and housekeeping.

·   Manage and champion change; develop, justify, and implement strategic 
programs to improve the long-term productivity, quality, safety and 
environmental performance of the plant's operation.

·   Ability to build a strong team atmosphere and develop individual 
performers; take existing plant & staff to the next level - work environment, 
process technology, service orientation, and shared commitment. 

·   Determine process, equipment, and system needs to meet current and future 
goals; assess operation adequacies and recommend change; assess organizational 
structure and implement changes to improve performance results.

·   Maintain ISO certification, production, quality and inventory management 
objectives.

·   Communicate policies and procedures to production floor on a regular basis.

·   Recommend and support personnel actions to include annual performance 
review, hiring, promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
