Boys Hope Girls Hope of Cincinnati is the local affiliate of an
established national program that helps academically capable and
motivated children-in-need to reach their full potential by providing
value-centered, family like homes, opportunities and education
through college. The operating budget and annual fundraising goal is
approximately $1.3 million.
Boys Hope Girls Hope of Cincinnati seeks a Director of Organizational
Advancement. This position reports directly to the Executive Director
and will be appropriately supported by the staff to successfully
achieve the goals of the organization. Working with the Executive
Director, the Director of Organizational Advancement is responsible
for identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospective donors. The
Director of Organizational Advancement will be responsible for the
creation and implementation of a strategic Development plan that
builds on the organization's current base of support and expands the
constituencies of individuals, corporations and foundations that
currently give to the organization. The Director of Organizational
Advancement will also be responsible for planning and overseeing or
supporting volunteer chairs in all aspects of the organization's
three (3) main fundraising events per year.
The Boys Hope Girls Hope of Cincinnati Director of Organizational
Advancement will: have the drive to achieve results; have the ability
to take initiative; be an experienced and dynamic individual who is a
self-starter; contribute to consensus building and a collegial
environment; have strong skills in collaboration and teamwork; be
flexible and adaptable; and have a can-do attitude. Negotiation and
follow-up skills to close donations, sponsorships and funding, as
well as budgeting and financial planning skills are all critical. The
Development Director will have a deep commitment to the mission,
philosophies and values of Boys Hope Girls Hope.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
. Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
. At least five years experience in major donor fundraising in a non-
profit or foundation setting
. Exceptional interpersonal skills with individuals and groups
. Experience working with active and involved volunteer leadership
. Excellent written communication, verbal communication and
interpersonal skills
. Knowledge of and experience with foundation/corporate relations and
grant writing
. Breadth and depth of Development experience to provide leadership
for a comprehensive Development program including individual major
gifts, foundations, corporate gifts and sponsorships, direct mail and
special events
. Proven track record of meeting/exceeding Development and campaign
goals
. Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Office (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint); experience with "Raiser's Edge" Development
software a plus
. Strategic thinker with creative energy and entrepreneurial spirit
. Strong initiative, self-motivation, and a positive mental attitude
. Excellent time management and prioritization skills
